Taiwan Trip (15th Feb- 22nd Feb 09)

On the 15th Feb
At S'pore Changi Airport Terminal 1
This is where the journey begins...

Approximately 4 hours and 35 mins....
(Basically I slept throughout the flight because I was so tired after Seng's Bday party)
We arrived at Tao Yuan Airport...

We took a coach service to the hotel....
After the checking in the stuff immediately we start shopping, eating, buying...hahaha

Outside of Ximen Station... The display looks nice... (My saliva is dripping..hahaha)

Promoting their 宪兵!
Salute!

咖哩鱼丸!

Actually I have no idea what my Baby is eating.. some ice cream and peanuts wrapped with po piah skin.. haha.. Look at his facial expression! So 夸张!

Taking their train service

(must buy ticket.. unlike the train services in Australia.. hahaha)

Looks blur blur... blame the photographer... P/s I wasn't the one who took the photos..
(You know who took the photo now..)

The Taipei Lantern Festival at Dr Sun Yat-Sen Memorial Hall
It is a coincidence that we are able to enjoy beauty of the Lantern Festival on the last day.

Along the roadsides
Actually I, myself can't finish such a big 棉花糖.. But i insisted... The one ending up having to finish eating it ....
Oopps...

*L O V E *
We took a photo together but the lighting of the camera was not as professional so cant even see our faces..
Despite it, I strongly believe that the L O V E in us will last entity

(the theme is 牛郎与织女... Like them we sort of really meet each other once a year... haha)

Can you believe this... this is created by primary school students..

Inside of the memorial hall... Dr Sun sat with the inscriptions...
**Actually I'm no history student and have no idea what the inscriptions means..

This briefly ends Day 1

16th FEB 2009
Day 2
We went to WuFenPu Shopping District...

but...批发日不零售
haiz ....
Even so.. we bought 2 chic bags.. one for me and one for Dennis' mum..

After which...

Feeling hungry?
my stomach is growling..haha

ah ma mee sua...

Pineapple flavored prawn ball? Appealing lei ~

Cute box... But what matters the most is the contents inside... haha

Felt so cheated at the 1st bite... there is no pineapple flavor at all~
Then we thought maybe the stall name is call Pineapple... (旺利bring business ma)
Then....
we realised that there is actually pineapple slice...
just that is it hidden under the prawn ball...
haha ...
**Whew ... lucky never ask the 老板where is the pineapple.. hehe

This is a MUST TRY!!
The strawberry ones are fabulous~

Little kids out there will chua tio seeing my baby's face like this !

haha ...
I saw a trolley of tomato... and i thought that will taste nice... so...
haha ....
Little did we expect... (Can tell from his expression ba?)

Taiwan is an eating paradise!

Inside the snowy skin... there is strawberry ice cream and a real strawberry!

My baby said if we walked about 10 odd mins in the other direction... we will reach another night market....
so.... we walked and walked ....
meanwhile ... we saw...

*So cute...

and walked and walked .... til we saw....

This was a so sian and tired face when we realised that we actually walked in the opposite direction!

so..... we decided to take train to the night market...

But after all the walking.... I definitely deserve a good meal !

I'm never a mushroom fan..
But this looks cute and ....

Tasted delicious at the 1st bite....
This a food paradise!

This roughly ends the 2nd day !

17th FEB 2009
Day 3

The plan today? Visit the Armed Forces Museum
Before that.... Breakfast/Lunch 1st... haha
It's all about eating and shopping isn't it?

I've been wanting to try this out since day 1.. But it is always endless wait at the queue..But today we were there even before the queue ..... haha ....

How thoughtful.... the way the fold the packet ensures that the sauce does not get stained on the packet !

卤肉饭。。。

He totally look like an army material man!
Actually we were looking for the police museum or something along that line..

Collect the stamps and win a souvenir!

Camera skill lousy ! haha ....

Do not try this at home ...

He totally fit into the size of the picture..haha

After which we went to another night market.. Little did we expect the entire street of the night market sells children wear.. I felt so cheated...

18th FEB 2009
Day 4
高雄here I come !
I have no idea who said to wake up early to catch the morning train ....
But it was almost noon time when we arrived at the train station... haha

Reserved specially for me !

This is of one the few well taken photos.. haha ...

A typical Singaporean will think that Food and Drinks are not allowed on board on the MRT... So we didn't thought ....
The scent from the neighbor seat... made me super hungry... the food on the menu looks appetizing... Looks is the keyword. I thought I'll sleep though the 2 and half hour journey.

This is bus interchange I guess...

Actually we had no actual plans of coming to Kaohsiung. It was an impromptu decision.. so there is no itinerary.. We basically thought it will be fun pure exploratory trip.
(So we actually didn't know we should go to KeTing to the beaches.. This is only what I come to know from friends in school)

Dennis wanted to go the the 爱河 Love River...
I guess the name suggest Love is the air and this love will last forever...
I guess he wanted me to feel the same way...
Thanks! I appreciate all the things that you have done for me...Everything I mean..

Love River Boat Trip!~

I deliberately chose this blurred photo is to match the atmosphere with the love river.

If you take a walk down the sides of the Love River, you will find statues that symbolizes everlasting love.

The beautiful night scenery!

There are many beautiful night spots in
Kaohsiung...

19th FEB 2009
Day 5
I don't remember the name of the place we went ... There is the map..

This near the Confucius temple..

Confucius temple
I thought can pray...but it is just a temple museum sort of thingy....
Just a Tourist Attraction.

There is alot of temple museum around...

求签。。。 but I have no idea what it means ...

We are Dragon babies!

This is the interior of the Dragon ... Beautifully crafted and painted ..

The top of the roof..

We are at the Old Fortress of the City ...

Somewhat the same concept as the Great Wall of China.. but not as magnificent.

Return ticket to Taipei

20th FEB 2009
Day 6
Yang Ming Shan - Flower Festival
The temperature was about 10 -15 degrees... It was as cold or colder than the winter in Melbourne.

Dennis only wore a thin wind breaker... He is freezing like anything.

Our destination is the Flower Clock... which is....... 6 Km away !?~

Look at the flight of stairs... This is killing me ...
The only reason that I'm here is of because of the flower festival.

After the flower festival .

士林夜市 is our next stop....
we bought alot of things at one shot wanting to spend all the Taiwan Dollar we had... haha ...

See all the files and stationary I have bought...

Tonight is the last night in Taiwan.. I feel so fortunate ... no matter is on tour or if I'm going back to Melbourne from Singapore ... Dennis will always be gentleman enough to do all the pack and clearing all the mess I've created...
Thanks!

21st FEB 2009
Day 7

We did some last minute shopping at Ximen Shopping District...
The Bus Coach on the way to the airport...

On the Plane back home ... ..

Some other things that I would love to do or go if I ever visit Taiwan again..
Visit KeTing Beaches in Kaohsiung
Visit the Yang Ming Shan's spa resort
Visit the Water theme Park (Must Go)
Eat mee Sua and lu rou fan again!
Shop til I drop ~
